Basking in Regeneration

This is a painting portraying a mermaid in full health basking thankfully on her domain at Eastern Beach (Auckland). It is an acrylic painting designed, painted and signed by myself the artist. Enjoy

Carolyn Galbraith - Local artist in Ngatea, New Zealand

I have shifted from an emerging artist to a professional artist now exhibiting around the North Island of New Zealand. I attempt to exhibit wherever I can. Currently I am freelancing with my learning and ideas as I connect with other artists, people and research. My works have been exhibited at the ASB Stadium Auckland, Waikino Art Exhibition, Thames Art Society, The Original Art Sale, Auckland, The Emerging Art Show Auckland, The Kumeu Art Show Auckland, the newly opened gallery in Ngatea and Wellington Art School at the Learning Connection.

Initially I was self taught beginning seven years ago although I did spend two years with the Learning Connection Art School in Wellington.

For a long time my focus for painting was on landscape and fauna but my alienation's have since moved on to painting interesting people. Most of my work is in acrylic and oil paints either on canvas or board.

I also love to be out enjoying the air with my camera snapping here and there to see what I might bring together next.

Please enjoy my works of art.

The Clown

The Clown, behind the mask he plays

to be heard and enjoying the moment plays on. His feet bouncing with the music movement and moment.

The Clown is painted in oils and signed by me the artist. This work measures 30 x 30 inches and painted on canvas.

Race Day 1933

This is a renditition of Ladies at the Races, a very social event in 1933. The work is painted on canvas in acrylic paints measuring 24 inches wide x 36 inches vertically.

The work has been settling for months and now I have finished it with protective product.

It is signed by me the artist.

I enjoyed painting these Ladies in a series of people I am working at.

Maori Mother and Babe

Mother and Babe is an impression of how babes were carried in the early years of maori in New Zealand. It was normal for a mother to carry her baby on her back with a lovely feather cloak around both of them.

This is an acrylic painting on canvas, painted and signed by me the artist, it is covered with protective product. The work measures 31 1/2 x 31 1/2 inches square.

Waiting

An original oil painting designed, painted and signed by me the artist. The work measures 50 inches wide x 25 1/2 vertically. This work is painted on board.

The resting lady in waiting is obviously pregnant and waiting in anticipation of her coming delivery of her baby.
